Instructor Background and Lineage
My name is Jack Gialanella.
- My interest in martial arts began when i was 3 years old. I saw Sugar Ray Leonard box and i was beyond impressed.I asked my father to teach me to box. My father was an ex police officer and had been a para-trooper in the 82nd airborne. Consequently he was quite familiar with a variety of martial arts and combat tactics including boxing. Evan though he was reluctant to do so , he finally gave in and began teaching me to box.
-This lasted until 1982 (when I was 5). I saw a Bruce Lee film and as were so many others, I was hooked. I began studying where ever and with whomever could. I continued my studies of martial arts throughout school and college and I continue still. some of these experience have been enlightening and others have been quite unfortunate. The arts I've study in the last 25 years include: ninjutsu, Shaloin Kung -Fu, Japanese karate, American kenpo, Muay Thai,, Goshin -Jutsu,western boxing, wrestling, and capoeira. Later I had (and continue to have) the privilege to study Jeet Kune Do, Filipino martial arts and Brazilian Ju-Jutsu with Joe Freyman (N.E. JKD Pennsylvania) and finally with world renowned founder of Progressive Fighting Systems Sifu Paul Vunak.
-After many hours  with instructor Joe Freyman, I went to see Paul and received my first Jeet Kune Do, and Filipino Martial Arts instructor certification from Progressive Fighting Systems in 2000. In 2001 I received an instructor certification for JKD ,Kali, And Mixed Martial Arts from Full Instructor Joe Freyman. Currently I am a Full instructor of Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts and Mixed Martial arts including Law enforcment tactics under Sifu Paul Vunak.
